Various models of Offshore Jack up Rig
Offshore jack-up rigs come in various models and are classified based on their design, operational depth, and the environment they are suited for. The differences in models often pertain to their leg length, the type of legs, the drilling depth they can achieve, and the size and type of the hull. Here are some common types of jack-up rig models:
1. Standard Independent-Leg Jack-Up
2. Mat-Supported Jack-Up
3. Slot-Type or Keyway Jack-Up
4. Cantilevered Jack-Up

5. Heavy-Duty Jack-Up
6. Ultra-Heavy-Duty Jack-Up
7. Environment-Specific Rigs
When selecting a jack-up rig for a project, factors like the expected environmental conditions, water depth, the distance from shore, and the drilling depth requirements are all considered to ensure the rig's capabilities align with the project's needs. The technology and design of jack-up rigs continue to evolve, with newer models designed to operate in deeper waters and withstand harsher environmental conditions.

10 个月Many years ago somebody has already posted here at LinkedIn that he had put together an article for Wikipedia on jack-ups. I poletly asked to remove that incorrect article or seriously edit this article using the support from professional consultants. Here, there is exactly the same mistake "Designed for deep-water drilling". Jack-ups are not designed for drilling at deep waters. Also, slot-type jack-ups are not made for increased drilling loads. Please, contact somebody who really inderstands the jack-up rig designs.
