|| Variability in training response - the importance of individuality ||
This nice little bit of research looking at the variability in the way individuals respond to different training strategies was a nice reminder on how there is no cookie cutter model for health and fitness.
This concept is just as relevant to a performance model of training as it is to a rehabilitative goal. Some individuals will be "high responders" to certain rehabilitation plans. This might be due to musculoskeletal physiology but when we consider the neurological components to movement and pain, it can be easy to appreciate that some individuals can have greater potential for neuroplastic change than others.
When you are working with your patients and clients consider the need for individualised treatment and training plans based on the person in front of you, their history, their physiology and their needs, wants and goals.
