The Vantage Point: Leveraging the Disruptive Formation of Times and Seasons

Seasons come and go, still, the ideologies that hold the universe remain the same. Principles that govern the earth do not change. For instance, the cycle that forms the rain remains the same. Heat happens, there is evaporation, condensation then precipitation. Is it not beautiful? To disrupt systems or cycles, you must understand the laws on which they were formed.

Living a beautiful life on earth requires a deeper knowing. This could mean launching yourself into a realm of deeper search. It comes with an understanding of the times. It is a kind of purchase that changes the narrative of your merchandise. To be relevant here, you will need to earn a bias; and be positive till it's accepted by all. Think about Albert Einstein. He kept trying out the possibility of the electric bulb even when the odds were against him. I wonder whether the count of how many times he failed at it was correct. Yet, this was where the vision of electrifying the world by General Electric was born.

Perhaps, you wonder why I write about this. Well, this year, a season per se is about to end. Have you got any plans for the new year? This could be a discovery. How do we manage time to earn so much of it? Please, stay with me on this exciting journey.

The Bible talks about the sons of Issachar as people who understood times and seasons. People who knew the right path for Israel. I studied further to discover that these were trained soldiers who understood frontline battle formation. They were going to help David win the war against Saul.

One of the things that stood out for me was that these were trained men. They were skilled at war. Hmmm.?

As long as the earth remains, seed-time and harvest shall not cease.

Over time, I've come to have a deeper respect for soldiers because they have a gut. Their intelligence and belief system are disruptive. Do you know the exciting path? We are at war, literally. The unfolding of these later years; the event of this pandemic cannot explain it more.

It remains that the value of your training at this will determine the height of your speed. Therefore, if you must understand the trends as they rapidly shift, then you need to get trained. In the universal natural law, what you sow becomes what you reap. You cannot sow mangoes and reap oranges.

When we understand how laws are formed, we think differently about them.

In this construct, the only way to manage time is to buy a lot of it. Read that again.

Therefore, what are the very basic principles that form time? Can we understand and disrupt this formation?

Be skilled at hand. In verse eight of that same chapter, the Bible revealed that the army whom David went to battle with were trained, skilled and swift at their delivery. There are no two ways to do it. Get trained. This line though it sounds like a cliché is the most important aspect of all needs currently. In today's world, if you do not get trained, hunger will kill you. Yet, a little training can rewrite your entire narrative. You know many times when I heard this particular verse of the scriptures, I usually thought the sons of Issachar were a kind of divine beings positioned by God to deliver Israel. Perhaps most preachers made it seem as thus. However, their secret was simple. They were trained and they were good at their trade. You can't go to battle without the required training. You will only make yourself a prey for the predator. Your skill will make a way for you before kings.

Have a formation. A fish becomes mediocre when it tries to climb. What cycle do you observe? What completes your precipitation? If the cloud is heavy, the rain will fall. If the grass is green, the flock will gather. Those days in the village we went snail hunting. It was one of the most beautiful hunting expeditions I experienced. The experts understood that snails don't breed everywhere. They have their kind of bushes. These were majorly plantain clusters, cocoyam farms, etc. So, we needed to understand this to make the most catch in that season. What is your ecosystem? What makes up your breed and vice-versa? You need to understand this. Who must remain in your cycle? Some bushes where you have toiled day and night without catching anything are not made for you. Maybe you need to think differently. This saves you time.

Build a study life. The infrastructure of your learning will be the structure that will hold your life together in the face of chaos. “I Daniel understood by books.” Bishop T.D. Jakes talking about books says they are the only infrastructure that allows you to travel the world without owning a visa. Nowadays, it's even easier to read. You can listen to podcasts, audiotapes, and audiobooks. Some of us, however, still prefer to read and underline the actionable phrases. Whatever works for you. Invest in books. They are the life-giving anchors of an enviable journey. Investing in books means you are purchasing the knowledge and experiences of the writer for free. And it doesn't matter how much you bought the book. So, do you want to buy a lot of time to your advantage? Buy books.

Join a Community. Another way of purchasing a lot of time large enough to store in your garage is joining a professional community. If you cannot build one, join one. Back to our premise story, David was able to build one of the largest battalions in the history of Israel. His army was trained and skilled. Think about the competence of the battlefront? Then you can remember David’s army. David understood the mechanism of winning the battle because he had men he could work with. So many of us fail because we are on the wrong team, surrounded by the wrong people. This is not necessarily because we are not skilled or not trained. As the year ends,?take time to look within your army. Do they have an understanding? The sons of Issachar understood times and seasons and just to amaze you; they were also a part of David's army. They were on his team. Build a community that could go to battle on your behalf?and wins?while you sleep. This could mean joining a professional association. Joining an NGO. Becoming a part of a professional body, etc. Buy time!?

Lead from where you are. Do you want to buy time? Then it's time to think like a leader even when you're just a follower. Leaders put themselves in the place of leadership even before they get the opportunity to lead. You are not the manager yet, however, each time there is a problem you ask yourself if you were to be the manager what would do differently. Better still, If I own this business what will I do. Leadership makes you think out of the box. You become solution-oriented. You just want to make it work. Leverage on the vantage point of leadership to win many of the times or all of the time. It helps.

I challenge you to invest in some of these so you could have the time to enjoy your life. The beauty of surrounding yourself with the right people means that you can delegate. With the right team, there will be a vertical distribution of labor across the board. Having a medical doctor on your team means that you do not have to worry so much about your health. Now imagine what it could mean to have God on your team - a mission for another day.

In essence, people make up time. Build your peoples' capacity, and launch an unassailable army.

Time still remains the most expensive commodity in the market. Until you understand this, you cannot win in this dispensation.
