Hello 2025! I’m so excited to be entering a new year and seeing such extraordinary innovations on the horizon for the hospitality industry. As guests’ needs and preferences evolve, those who are at the forefront of change, and possess a clairvoyant ability to surprise their guests will reap the rewards. From creating bespoke experiences, to exceeding sustainability expectations, here are the trends and developments that I predict will shape the industry this year.
Earthy Tones are Taking Over
Heard of Mocha Mousse? As Pantone’s colour of the year for 2025, you’ll be seeing its comforting, earthy tone taking over interiors, products, and fashion. This soft shade confidently carries indulgence through every hue, making it the perfect nurturing note to incorporate into a hotel setting.
Purposeful Travel
The era of the wellness traveller is just beginning. 2025 will see more guests looking for genuine escapes with meaningful and authentic touchpoints when they book their travels. Both in business and pleasure settings, hotels have the opportunity to tap into this by providing tools that help guests unwind. My purposeful predictions? We’ll be experiencing meditation channels, mindful turndown routines, and spa and wellness focussed guest essentials.

Local Curators
Tourist fads are out, local immersion is in. Guests not only want to check into the hotel, but also the local community. Stay ahead of the curve by integrating access to incredible artisans, produce, and experiences into the hotel stay. Bob W. are early adopters of this trend, already beautifully collaborating with local designers in each city and treating every guest to a local delicacy on arrival. This is where the partnership economy will lead the charge. By joining forces with brand partners and local heroes, hotels will be able to create authentic experiences for the guests that support the local community.
Experiences over tangibles
2025 will be the year we're rich in memories, not materials. Hotels will need to provide one of a kind, money can't buy experiences that reinvigorate the concept of word of mouth. From one-on-one cooking classes with your executive chefs to after hour tours of local landmarks, these will be the souvenirs that guests will want to take home with them. Collaboration is key here - make your brand partners work harder by creating exclusive workshops and experiences designed for your guests. Putting an end to greenwashing
Faux-sustainability and greenwashing are out. This shouldn’t be a hot take! Hotels will be looking for suppliers who have done the hard work and are a genuinely sustainable partner that don’t hide under catchphrases and industry jargon.
