What's New In The Lab Industry Today?
Today there are more pathology related jobs than people available to fill them. We are seeing the highest recorded number of open pathology-related jobs in twenty years. And that will not likely change in the very near future due to the nature of how we got here.
A Yale-based diagnostics initiative is building a nationwide network of clinical laboratories embracing an open-source testing protocol for COVID-19 using saliva. Ultimately, the labs could become important players in public health responses to pandemics of the future and, perhaps more immediately, the ongoing monkeypox outbreak.
A preview of the plans obtained by CNN shows that the updated recommendations are expected to ease quarantine recommendations for people exposed to the virus and de-emphasize 6 feet of social distancing. Click the link to find out more.
The pandemic of our generation has ebbed and flowed as most microbial outbreaks do, while humankind has experienced anxiety, heartbreak, hope, and exhaustion. Then, just as the world was beginning to hope for a pandemic ending, an old zoonotic agent reared its viral head: monkeypox.
