Beetlejuice sequel buzz

Tim Burton's “Beetlejuice” sequel “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival. Screen Rant says early reviewers found it to be a fun, nostalgic ride.

Time was one such impressed viewer: “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is a funny, silly return to form for Tim Burton.

But Vanity Fair says “Beetlejuice“ should've stayed dead: Its sequel is disappointing with “limp humor”.

The Guardian was less harsh, though: “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is a nostalgic joyride…but it lacks fresh substance.
