Valuing our Work!

???? Valuing our work eases our ache, especially if desire for acclaim claws. We, however, can't control this though great our work is. Yet valuing our work is within our power once we perceive its value in advancing our development, which none but us can stop.?

???? Acclaim, in contrast, confounds our efforts to control, however tightly we hold our commitment. Nothing we do guarantees it. Embracing this fact increases our focus. It also eases our tendency to feel hopeless because we can’t gain others’ notice.?

???? During these times, we are inclined to undermine the value of our work and the wisdom of our way. So much, until we become irritable and irascible, prone to tantrums, which only our eyes see and our bodies feel. Their effects, however, are debilitating and real.

???? Freedom from these results when we rejoice in our work and in the progress we make though others ignore us. In focusing thus, we cease to rehearse the favor that follows others (or the misfortune that follows us), especially when we feel as if our work excels.?

???? Our work may excel yet what does it soothe save our conceits? Excellence as a measure matters less than our ability to experience happiness in our labors despite the favor we desire and perhaps deserve, but which eludes.?

Don't let the desire for prominence be so dominant it derails. Remain faithful rather to yourself.

???? In this regard, we must not only be deliberate in our commitment but also infinite in our approach, fixing neither time nor dates on our hopes while rejecting promissory notes --the consolation that produces consternation when it fails. Our part is to do our work well and wisely according to the tidings of our soul. Anything less and we distress ourselves.
