Values Based Award - Open Minded Winner: Ecosystem Expansion Group
Continuing last week’s post on the second Values Based Award with the Open-Minded value, let’s congratulate the second category’s winner: Group FLEX with Highest Learning Initiative: Ecosystem Expansion Group. FLEX is short for “Finarya Learning Expert" representatives from each group in Finarya who has an essential role in supporting learning initiatives in the company together with the Human Capital team.?
Meet Verdy H. Permadi , the VP of Ecosystem Expansion Group. He is one of the senior employees in the organization who lead this big team to consistently give their best to generate value and deliver services to the customers. He is supported by 4 AVPs, and 3 of them are the group’s FLEX: Perwira Saputra representing the West area, Shatria P. representing the East area and Irfan Chair representing the Central area. On top of being a FLEX, they are also serve as facilitators and trainers for a series of learning activities in the Ecosystem Expansion Group.?
The Ecosystem Expansion Group has always reached 100% completion on every mandatory learning assignment in a timely manner, how do you ensure that considering your group has big number of people??
Having a big team spread all over Indonesia requires a big span of control. That is why the leader’s role and the FLEX’s role in this case are crucial. Strong leadership emphasizing to the team that we share a common interest based on a common goal is the key. In our group, esprit the corps or a sense of solidarity is important to cultivate as a shared spirit. We always put the understanding that “if you don’t do it, you will be a blocker or bottleneck for others.” The main thing is we have put common interest (same goals & objectives) as the priority, and creating the needs for it, so that every member in our group sees the task as not only a mandatory thing but also that it is beneficial for them to do. Therefore, they become motivated to do the task on their free will and not take it as burden.?
On every training conducted by the company, regardless it is mandatory or not, it is essential for leaders to translate the training objectives and the benefit by participating it to the team. This way, instead of seeing it as a barrier, our team can see it as an opportunity for area improvement. We (as a leader and a FLEX) must communicate clearly in defining the needs, identifying the team’s pain points, and at the end providing the needs or proposing solutions. We also have biweekly meeting with our team in the area where we discuss the key points on each training planned and ensure to deliver the same message with the same understanding. Again, building the needs within the team is highly important to have an effective and impactful training implementation.?
The Ecosystem Expansion Group is the pilot group which conducts internal workshop in LinkAja. How is your commitment and your plan regarding people development area within your group??

To give a brief picture, the Ecosystem Expansion Group has 3 internal workshops plan this year.?The first one is Analytical Thinking Workshop facilitated by Perwira Saputra , the second one is Creative Thinking facilitated by Shatria P. , and the third one is Leadership Workshop facilitated by Irfan Chair .?
In our group, we have the same understanding regarding development area, career progression or promotion which are:?
Currently, we do not have the luxury to have fancy trainings or having a well-known facilitator from external. In adapting to our current situation, together with the Human Capital team we create initiatives to provide an internal people development series with the intention form basic standard competencies level within the team. The main objective is to be able to accommodate their needs to achieve their goals. We also keep in mind that training is only 10%, while the rest and most importantly is how we implement he training in our daily working life that reflected to our KPI. Once it’s reflected, we need to have a full commitment to fulfill accordingly.
Aligned with our commitment in people development area, we are also proud to see one of the living proofs from our team: Dany Ariyanto . He has shown? the spirit of learning by completing 7 modules with long duration only within 2 weeks’ during the Udemy Challenge that was conducted last October.??
Above all, great result comes from a great team, by having lots of discussion, internal training plan and openness between team. We can proudly say the Ecosystem Expansion Group is a safe learning environment where learning is encouraged and people are motivated to improve themselves.?
