How is the New Year treating you? For us, 2024 has kicked off with news that makes us proud - the Women for Green Jobs Programme that Shortlist Professionals , the The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) and Value For Women Ltd. have partnered on, has been selected as a finalist for the Energy Institute ’s 2024 Energy Awards.??

What’s more, our team has expanded, and we’re excited to welcome new colleagues onto our global, multidisciplinary team.?

Value For Women Ltd. , Shortlist Professionals and The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) ’s Women For Green Jobs Programme is dedicated to fostering gender equity within the clean energy industry, ensuring women's success and empowerment in their careers.

Shortlist Professionals sums up the exciting results this program has had here:

Women for Green jobs is Africa's only workforce development program centered around supporting women's inclusion in the climate and clean energy sector. Not only do we support women in finding full-time jobs, but over the course of the program we have found that:

?? 90% of women report that their salary increased because of their placement through Shortlist, and of those, 30% had an income increase of over 50%

?? 100% report increased financial resilience through their job placement 90% of men and women report that their confidence has ‘very much increased’

? 90% of women report that their confidence has ‘very much increased’ because of their job placement??

The Women for Green Jobs Program aims to assist over 750 women in transitioning to the clean energy sector. We're committed to providing young women with invaluable hands-on work experience, offering comprehensive job search support, and equipping hundreds of women with the technical skills needed for roles in finance, operations, maintenance, and engineering.


Value for Women CEO Rebecca Fries will be joining Impact Frontiers ’ multidisciplinary expert panel on impact management practices to advance social equity.

While investors worldwide are deploying strategies to increase equity, best practices on how to manage and disclose the impact of those strategies have not kept pace. Impact Frontiers wants to tackle this gap through the Advancing Social Equity through Impact Management initiative.?

Through the initiative, Impact Frontier aims to center social equity, a fundamental element of impact, in the practice of impact management as it continues to grow and mature. Rebecca and the panelists’ goal is to build consensus on the best impact management practices to advance social equity, specifically racial equity, gender equity, and data equity. We’re excited to be part of this much-needed work, and looking forward to building new knowledge in the field. Share your views on the discussion board.


As a new member of Canada Forum for Impact Investment and Development (CAFIID), Value For Women Ltd. was excited to have the opportunity to present its work to the network. Our Senior Engagement Manager, Anne Maftei took the stage at CAFIID's Impact Innovators Networking Event earlier this month.
