Definition of Value needs to be reset !
Else we are chasing a mirage of imagination!
Numerical measurements with temporary quantification cant be a value generation proposition ! Its a frugal mechanism of doing whats must to be done as part of our delivery ??!
A Pizza ?? delivery boy delivering his Pizza or Dabba walla delivering with 6 Sigma is qualitative aspect of his Job. Does he ever deliver you an extra Box or Extra tiffin unless someone baked or cooked it for him ?
Will the baker or cook create more value by making extra boxes ? Automation of Pizza making isnt generation of value but sheer industrial multiplication of efforts.
A new baking stove might be an innovative gadget but again does it produce tastier pizzas or same roughed up one in hurry ? Is it giving any value to end eaters than one frozen in Freezer ! What value did the new stove did ? Answer is none !!!! Its disdain!!
Alas the mechanics of trade demands value be quantified like Industrial machinery which keeps more production without quality. Time hs changed and so has the definition of VALUE !
For me a value would be when someone write a new recipe of Pizza ?? and makes it tasty which automatically creates more demand , more revenue and also better market propositions .

8 年Can you throw somelight on "Gold plating" concept ( From Six Sigma perspective) vs "Creation of Value" (from PMI perspective)...Six Sigma guys get irritated of doing anything beyond required and say the rest nonsense as "Gold Plating", While PMI or other stuff keep emphasizing on "Create Value, go an extra mile"....how , whom and when should we use and blend all these and create a proper VALUE? And one more thing doesn't this all take back to the concept of "Business Models", Doesn't the definition of "Value" depend on these...ain't true that VALUE actually has nothing to do with the Product or Service...don't you think VALUE is something beyond the Product/ Service. Oops, sorry for so many questions, but would love to hear your thoughts on this.
