The Value of Virtue Signaling

When I look at the various pro-Hamas protests around the world, I perceive a great deal of virtue signaling.

The classic one, so far, has been “Trans 4 Palestine”. (They can join the Parade).

But the new one?

”Fatties for Palestine.”

What the hell does being fat have to do with a supposed interest in a “free” Palestine?

I suppose they would say something like “well, we’re both oppressed.”

But, to me, it just smacks of “hey, let’s try and jump on the ‘free Palestine” news bandwagon and get some PR.”

I guess I respect them for that.

Perhaps this is all just a function of our age, where everything goes on social media all we care about is likes and retweets.

These things, however, have ripple effects over time and space.

What does this mean for Western civilization in 20 years? (assuming it makes it that far).
