I was delighted to speak with Jonathan Stark on his podcast, Ditching Hourly. We discussed what I am (tentatively) calling Value Pricing 2.0: The Subscription Business Model, but applied to professionals.

5 年How would you rate/evaluate this as a good example of (subscription based professional services)? Or is it in that direction at-least? https://www.medaxiom.com/
I read "Subscribed" at your recommendation, and recently proposed a subscription-based revenue stream to a client. He was floored at the notion and intrigued by it. I think I earned my entire year's investment in that meeting! Thanks for continuing to shed light on these new business models, Ron.

5 年Thank you for sharing this interview, Ron. I agree that the subscription/concierge model of professional services is intriguing but difficult to wrap one's mind around, but I think it's worth some deep thinking. Have you encountered arguments in the legal arena stating that clients paying subscriptions to attorneys is in violation of the rules of ethics? E.g. that monies paid must be linked to specific work performed? I know some judges look at the hours worked when evaluating if a fee is reasonable.
