The Value Manifesto 2018
GalbraithWight first published #TheValueManifesto last year; a guide for both Pharma/Biotech companies and to Payer Organisations around the world in delivering value for patients. We were astonished by the positive response it received, so we have completely revised, revamped and updated The Value Manifesto in recognition of GalbraithWight’s 21-year anniversary in 2018; 21 years dedicated to global strategic Market Access. The new 2018 Value Manifesto provides 21 key points under five major domains to help guide and improve access to innovative healthcare interventions and, most importantly, deliver better health outcomes for patients. My personal sincere thanks to Professor Finn B?rlem Kristensen, former EUnetHTA Executive Committee Chairman and EUnetHTA Secretariat Director, for writing the Forward.
When most companies are obsessively focussed on clinical development, why the focus on Market Access? For three specific reasons.
1. Market Access is the single most important determinant of commercial success for life science businesses – success which delivers value to patients, employees, shareholders and investors.
2. Market Access is the process by which patients gain access to improved health outcomes – the most important reason for the existence of the Pharma, Biotech, Vaccines and MedTech businesses. By helping healthcare professionals to deliver better health outcomes for patients, country healthcare systems create a healthier population which drives economic activity and reduces overall healthcare and societal costs.
3. If Pharma, Biotech companies, Governments and Payers continue conducting Market Access processes in the same old adversarial way, patients will not get the treatments they need and deserve, and the innovative Pharma and Biotech industry will, ultimately, fail.
Market Access delivers real benefits to healthcare professionals, healthcare systems, country economies, life science business employees, shareholders and investors. Most important of all, it delivers real benefit to patients.

6 年Working in the area of Market Access and HTA I find the 2018 Manifesto much to the point in its diagnosis – and in several places wonderfully provocative. The 21 proposed activities or actions are suggestions not only to one side in the manufacturer / payer interface but to all the players in the field: It’s highly recommended food for strategic thoughts.
