The Value of Freelancers!

The Value of Freelancers!

I recently partnered with Fiverr to enlist some freelancer help on an exciting new business venture of mine.

Through our work, I have been reminded of just how much of a misconception there is surrounding the work freelancers do, and just how much value they can actually bring to the people and businesses they’re employed by.

The misconception I’m referring to is the way many people see freelancers as an afterthought.

Often working remotely, they have become associated with an almost faceless, nameless service to call on when you are in need.

They are someone you call on when working on a project alone and come across a gap in your skillset.

They are someone you call on to plug it. Someone who delivers what you need, when you need it. Who saves your bacon. But nothing more.

I know the opposite to be true, which is why I was so pleased to be a part of this partnership with Fiverr .?

So far, the work I have personally been doing with their freelancers has proven my understanding to be true:

I know them to be the people who help struggling entrepreneurs get their businesses off the ground. I know them to be the people who take an entrepreneur’s vision and bring it to life. Who breathe creativity into the mundane, or who bring order to the creative.

Who compliment the skill set of the person purchasing their services and help get them across the finish line.

They are often the first team members a founder will have - and whether their project takes them a day, a month or a year to complete, that is a hugely significant thing to be.

It makes them the first official sounding board for ideas. The first official push-back on bad ones. The first official person they get to delegate to or tell “Well done!” upon completion.

It makes them the first official person to take a load off the founder’s shoulders, freeing up their time to focus on the things only they can do.

Having been that founder myself, and now working with so many in the same position through Fearless Adventures, I can’t over-stress just how valuable that makes Freelancers.

With every investment we make and every call we take with a new founder, I see the same issues cropping up again and again.

Perhaps the biggest of all is the following:

Founders can lack the skill and definitely lack the time to do everything their business needs. But they also lack the capital required to build a team of people who can.

As a result, we see so many businesses falling into ruts. Fantastic ideas and ambitious, talented founders brought to an almost complete standstill through a lack of skilled support.

Freelancers are an antidote to that.

Taking your financial situation, deadlines, requirements and business vision into account, you can choose someone who meets all of your needs.

Someone who can push you closer to the next stage of growth.

And Fiverr is a fantastic way to find that person.

Behind the scenes, I have been working on a new business venture, and whilst I can’t reveal what it is yet, I can reveal that this platform and the freelancers I have found through it are going to be a huge driving force in getting it off the ground.

Using their search tools and in-platform chats, I have been able to connect with freelancers who have the skills needed to help me:

  • Develop a brand voice
  • Build a brand image
  • Develop a brand website

All of these are tasks I had been putting off and off due to a lack of time and personal experience.

And as a result, all of these things were becoming a bottleneck in actually launching this venture.

I look forward to updating you on the progress of our work together and the impact it has!
