Valuation of Brazil's TOP 30 Teams Reaches US$ 7.4 Billion in 2024. The Enterprise Teams New Era

Sports Value has just completed its annual study on the valuation of Brazil’s TOP 30 teams for 2024.

The methodology includes various data points, and this study marks its 5th edition. This year’s report was impacted by the devaluation of the Brazilian Real against other currencies.

Valuation of TOP 30 Clubs Reaches US$ 7.4 Billion

In 2024, the valuation of the top 30 Brazilian clubs reached US$ 7.4 billion for the first time. One of the main contributing factors was the investment in clubs that transitioned into enterprise model.

In the previous study, the valuation of these 30 clubs was US$ 6.8 billion.

Another factor contributing to the growth was the increase in brand value, driven by rising revenues.

Additionally, there was an equity boost through a sale of a share of broadcasting rights for many clubs to the Liga Forte Uni?o for the next 50 years.

Enterprise model impacts

The biggest impact this year came from the growth of clubs sold to investors, which saw significant improvements in their valuations. These are the clubs known as "Sociedade An?nima do Futebol" (SAF).

Clubs such as SAF BOTAFOGO Cruzeiro Esporte Clube - SAF Vasco da Gama SAF and Esporte Clube Bahia S.A.F. increased their value through player investments and enhanced brand value, leading to increased revenues.

Brazilian Clubs Still Far Behind European and North American Teams

Although Brazilian clubs are enjoying their best financial moment, they are still far behind their counterparts in other markets.

For instance, Major League Soccer (MLS) is valued at US$ 20 billion.

Clube de Regatas do Flamengo , the most valuable Brazilian club, would only rank 21st in comparison to European and North American clubs, while S.E. Palmeiras , Brazil’s second-ranked club, would be 32nd.
