A Valuable Tip to Save You Time & Money! - Intended Vessels / Transhipment vessels

3DL Customs & Consulting was confirmed as the highest user of AEP COMM in Australia Last year. This means more entries lodge with our Approved Arrangement skills and qualifications than any other Corporate Customs brokerage In Australia. Not bad eh.

This means more automatic entries received by our clients immediately, rather than needing to wait days, sometimes weeks by lodging manually through COLS.

Over the past few months, we've been conducting some in-depth time and motion studies, and we’ve uncovered a little-known industry secret—one that authorities may never confirm or deny, but the data speaks for itself.?

At 3DL, our operational policy is to lodge entries with Intended Vessel details to speed up invoicing and ensure faster money collection for our clients. However, there’s a challenge when entries qualify for AEP (Automatic Entry Processing) and receive instant Quarantine directions.?

Here’s the catch: If we don’t receive confirmation of the transhipment vessel within 24 hours after the Shipping line reporting the “Impending Arrival Report”—either from your team or your system via an Arrival Notice or similar—then when we amend the entry, regulator systems will then treat it as a “major amendment.” Instead of clearing automatically, the system generates directives requiring manual document submission via COLS (Cargo Online Lodgement System).?

Tip of the Day!

To avoid unnecessary COL lodgement fees from us and additional Electronic Entry Processing fees from DAFF—plus prevent costly COLS processing delays that could hold up your cargo—let us know your transhipment confirmations as soon as you have them!?

A small step that could mean faster clearance, lower costs, and smoother operations for your business.?

As always, we’re here to help—reach out with any questions!
