Last Saturday, we welcomed March and looked at 13 ways to cultivate the Growth Mentality. Today, we look at one of the most dangerous places that ideas have to navigate. This is the Valley where a lot of ideas meet their premature end.
In March last year, I noticed that I was not that comfortable in front of the camera. I made the decision that this was the place I would focus on until getting in front of a camera was normal for me like Writing. My goal was to reach a point where I wouldn’t have to wonder whether I’m ready or not.
So, I shifted all my Interactions and Catch-ups to a video interaction, I was guided in different ways to prepare before getting on camera and what to do during the call. All these were good but the results were not yet showing up.?
It crossed my mind that maybe this was not working, maybe all I’ve done is for nothing, maybe this was not the right way, and all this lead to maybe it’s time to Quit. Maybe it was time to walk away and do something else. However, from experience I knew this was the most crucial time.
I held on to the Vision that was in my mind about the Camera Presence I envisioned myself having. This dream carried me through the next three months until I started noticing that my Confidence in front of the Camera was rising like the Phoenix from the Ashes.
In September 2024, is when I started Feeling and Seeing the results of my efforts of elevating my Camera Presence. That’s half a year since I set my goal and fixated my mind only on the Vision of my accomplished Goal.
There is a point where doubts were springing all around me. Where I wondered whether it was time to walk away. This is the most crucial of moments when you are bring your new Ideas into Reality. Your idea has to cross the most dangerous Valley.
The Valley of Disappointment
The Valley of Disappoint is the time when you are putting in your best effort but the Results are not showing up. You are doing everything required of you and more but you’ve nothing to show for it. This is the point that New Ideas die because one decides to Quit.
As you cultivate your Growth Mindset and push yourself beyond the Comfort Zone. As you do your best to bring your wildest Ideas into Reality, be aware that you’ll reach the Valley of Disappointment. But when you reach it: Don’t panic, forget about your Vision and Quit, instead hold on to your Vision and call on your Persistence to carry you through to your expected Results.
As we continue growing, let’s embrace the Valley of Disappointment as the lever that churns out a Loser or a Winner. Be a Winner and keep on doing what needs to be done and you’ll pass the Test. Then your Dreams will be manifested in your Reality.
Also remember that there is a Delay between the Internal world and the External world. There is a Time Drag as your External world shifts to match the state of your Inner world. Your only job is to ensure your Beliefs, Thoughts, Feelings, and Actions are aligned with the Vision of your accomplished Goal. The other job is to hold on no matter what the Reality seems like.
That’s All
That’s all from me today!
Continue with your Growth.
And turns your Wildest Dreams into Reality.
Have an exciting Saturday!
Enjoy your Weekend!
PS
Have you come across the Valley of Disappointment?
Carpe Diem!

4 天前Thank you Samuel Kimu for the Women’s Day greeting—merci beaucoup! Thinking about the #IWD2025 theme, #AccelerateAction in relation to your post on the valley of disappointment, there is a clear connection. That valley is where movements either lose steam or gain momentum. This year is a call to push forward, not stall. To break through stagnation and turn slow progress into real, unstoppable change.
