Validation – The Key to Emotional Health

I specialize in facilitating discussion by bringing like-minded people together to create real impact | Amazon New Release Best Seller | Walking the Path - A Leader's Journey | GoFundMe
The Envision Speakers Series brings like-minded people together to discuss issues that impact our daily lives. Although the primary focus is to learn how people in local communities around the world are making an impact, each conversation is unique and authentic. I designed these conversations so that speakers, coaches, industry professionals, and change-makers can learn from each other, inspire one another, and create pathways that result in change. These conversations address both personal and professional concerns that effect all of us – the only way we can make change happen is to make it happen together.
New Year 2024
In 2024, I will continue to use this newsletter to highlight the conversations I am having on the Envision Speakers Series. I talk with impact experts from across the globe. These professionals add so much value to the world around us. The conversation I had with Eileen Bild, MA and Kevin R. Strauss, M.E. ?????? is on point with this theme – changing the conversation around mental and emotional well-being.
The conversation published to my YouTube channel on November 25, 2023 . . . link below. For this, and all of my other conversations, go to my YouTube channel. Please like, comment, and subscribe – all support is appreciated! ?

Background
When I asked Eileen and Kevin to the virtual table, I wanted to know more about their insights into emotional well-being. More frequently, I see signs that people are losing control over their emotional health. I enjoy a good YouTube binge. However, much of the content now playing on YouTube focuses on unhealthy habits. This would include behavioral, emotional, interactional, and so forth. It’s as if . . . we lost the ability to interact with each other appropriately and respectfully. And this concerns me. Although I did not address these observations specifically in the conversation, it remained in the back of my mind.
Vulnerability & Validation
Eileen and Kevin shed light on the importance of #vulnerability in the journey towards emotional health. They stressed the need for a shift in societal perception, highlighting vulnerability as a strength rather than a weakness.
Kevin provided historical context, explaining how the lack of emphasis on emotional health throughout human history has led to our current struggles in understanding and addressing our #emotions. He emphasized the importance of acknowledging and managing emotions, focusing on emotional health rather than mental health.
Eileen built upon this by emphasizing the value of #validation in emotional health. She discussed the role of validation in breaking down emotional barriers and finding solutions to underlying issues.
Authentic Emotions
Dr. K brought the discussion back to vulnerability, questioning how we can create a society that accepted and celebrated vulnerability. Dr K emphasized the importance of education, role models, and empathy in fostering a culture that values authenticity and emotional expression.
In the concluding segment, the guests summarized the key points, reinforcing that vulnerability is a strength and encourages listeners to embrace their vulnerabilities. The episode closed with gratitude to the guests and promises to bring more thought-provoking discussions.
January 2024 Event
Title: Beyond the Surface: Exploring the Depths of Health and Happiness 2024
领英推荐
Stage: Virtual
Date: January 27, 2024
Time: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm EST
In January 2024, I will begin the evolution of the Envision Speakers Series – bringing multiple conversations to the virtual (and soon on-site) table to solve problems directly impacting the world.
In January, Mitch Gray will join Kevin R. Strauss, M.E. ?????? and Eileen Bild, MA to continue the discussion on emotional well-being. These three experts understand that emotional health is a topic that we need to spend more time discussing. Humans are emotionally bankrupt! There, I said it. If we are not feeling happy, we use every possible means to numb ourselves (addictions, drugs, etc.). Mitch, Kevin, and Eileen will offer suggestions on how to bring sanity back to humanity. A big part of this is making real connections with others. Reconcile ALL relationships and nurture the ones that matter most.?

Suicide Survivor
As a two-time suicide attempt survivor, I recognize the importance of human connection. When I wanted to die by suicide, I had no one to turn to, to trust in, or tell my story to. This is a lonely experience . . . an experience no one should go through. My mission is to have the conversations . . . and to change the conversation . . . so we are connected and feel validated for our own feelings.
Your Story Matters
If you have made the attempt to end your life, let’s talk. I would like the opportunity to share your story with the world. If you have been left in the wake of someone who has died by suicide, please share your story with me as well.
And if you are still grieving the loss of someone close to you who ended their own life, I know people who can help.
