Ms. Valerie Thomas started to get interested in science at the age of 8. She learned everything she could on math and science on her own as schools deterred women from these subjects. She eventually made her way to University and graduated as one of only two women in her class with a Physics Degree.
After graduation, Ms. Thomas started working for NASA. In 1976 she came up with an idea to use concave mirrors for 3-D images. By the 1980’s she had created 3D illusion which she patented. Ms. Thomas sold her idea to NASA for satellite imaging. Eventually this technology led to the ability to film in 3-D movies.
