Valentine’s Day is North America’s fourth favorite holiday, after Christmas, Halloween, and Easter. Yet it's also the most polarizing holiday. People either love Valentine’s Day or hate it, but more people view it positively than don’t, garnering an overall Net Sentiment score of 60% (80% Positive & 20% Negative).

Of those who feel positively towards the holiday, the most common sentiment is that it’s “cute” – cute cards, cute décor, cute t-shirts – and so much “love!”

On the other end of the spectrum, lots of people dislike the holiday for reasons such as, “it puts pressure on men to deliver,” to “being lonely,” to “not because I'm alone, but because other people make me feel bad about being alone,” to it being “just a scam to make you waste money.”
