Valentine’s Day Prayer
A delicate rose was she among the thorns of life;
In her time she had seen more than her fair share of sadness and strife.
Life hadn’t made her bitter, but only better it seems;
Nightly she still prayed for the answer to her hearts dreams.
Her dream was to have that one special man to love;
How she hoped that this year, her prayer would be answered from above.
Then one star filled Texas night he came strolling by;
At that special moment, he smiled and instantly, caught her eye.
They held each other close with their eyes, as her heart began to race;
In her mind she wondered if this was the beginning of love’s special embrace.
With a tip of his hat and a smile on his lips;
She prayed this would be more than just another failed relationship.
Hello Darlin’ were the first words she heard him say;
His deep voice made her feel like she was part of some romantic play.
Oh how she had prayed each night for that special “one”;
But each time, she’d been left, with her heart once again broken.
Was he the one, the answer to her many prayers each night;
Then he asked her to dance, her heart jumping with delight.
Dancing and talking the time went by way too fast;
Each wondered secretly if this was something that was destined to last.
Now together under the stars, they walk, hand n’ hand;
For now at least, they are no longer a part of loves wasteland.
Their story has only just begun; neither knows what the future may hold;
But together into tomorrow, they both boldly go.
So lift up a prayer for star struck lovers everywhere this Valentine’s Day;
That each will find true love along “Life’s Highway”.

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8
And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:14
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Galatians 5:22
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 1 Corinthians 13:1-13
Let all that you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7
We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19
