Valcre's 2020 Year-in-Review and What’s Ahead

Valcre's 2020 Year-in-Review and What’s Ahead

This year has been a wild ride (which is also maybe the understatement of the year). With better days ahead, we are reflecting on the last 12 months and a few of the bright spots amidst an otherwise challenging year.

The Valcre team started the year off strong in Texas as a sponsor of the 11th Annual North Texas Realty Conference. Little did we know this would be the first and last in-person event the Valcre team would attend in 2020. Connecting with fellow appraisers at industry events and conferences is always one of our highlights during the year, so in hindsight we are extra grateful to have snuck this event in before the shutdown.

Like most people, we were forced to slow down mid-March in response to the pandemic. The ways in which leaders rose to the occasion during this volatile time was heartwarming to say the least. Our very own CEO, Lucas Rotter, took the time to personally check in with all of our users and offer support where we could. This is a huge testament to how much Valcre values the small business feel for our community of users. Even as we grow, this level of accessibility to our leadership team is something we will strive to maintain.

It’s no secret that Valcre is always seeking creative and innovative way to leverage technology and to spearhead whatever we can to the advantage of our users. That’s why it was a huge goal of ours to strengthen our digital footprint in 2020. One major update was the launch of our mobile app, which gives appraisers even greater access to their data on the go. It’s available for free to existing Valcre users in the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.

Another major update for Valcre was rolling out a snazzy new website. We gave our overall look and feel a healthy facelift, and even added a community forum for users to connect and exchange ideas, as well as a more robust support site for our users. We are constantly evolving and look forward to upgrading our website design for an even stronger user experience in 2021. Stay tuned for more updates on this!

We also turned up the dial on our blog by publishing a solid library of content throughout the year, including articles on best practices for working from home during COVID, industry updates like the changes in USPAP, and ways to increase diversity in the workplace and become a better leader. Our Q&A blog series also picked up steam this year. It was enriching to learn the ways in which Valcre has helped to prepare for shifting conditions and how to continue to grow during a global pandemic. A major theme we heard was learning to quickly pivot operations to strictly online. Valcre already prides itself on creating flexibility for our users, so we were pleased to hear that in most cases this shift was rather smooth.

On the software side, we added several new property types and custom fields for our users. Valcre now supports convenience stores and gas stations, affordable housing, and quick serve restaurants - in addition to office, industrial, retail, multi-family, self-storage, and land. In 2021 we look forward to further enhancing the collection of properties our software supports.

It has been a big year in many ways. Not only have we grown as a brand, but we’ve added several new members to our team, have put our software in hands of many new appraisal businesses - both big and small - and have taken every opportunity to pause, educate ourselves and listen to the ways we can better support our friends, family, community members and planet. It’s hard to say what’s next, but one thing is for sure: we will continue to revolutionize real estate technology for everyone.
