VACC welcomes a new Executive Board as it enters the 107th year of industry leadership.
The election marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in VACC's 106-year legacy of industry advocacy and member support.
New leadership for new challenges
The newly elected Board brings together experienced industry leaders, reflecting the diverse nature of Victoria and Tasmania’s automotive sector. The Board will be led by its new President, and Executive Board Chairman Mr Craig Beruldsen from the Towing Operators and Body Repair Industry Division and business owner of Mel Schmidt Panel Works in Mildura. The elected Vice Chairman is Paul Bertoli from the Farm and Industrial Machinery Dealers Association and owner of Bertoli Farm Machinery in Shepparton. The new VACC Secretary is Matt Jones from the Motorcycle Industry Division who operates Matt Jones Motorcycles in Melton.
VACC CEO Geoff Gwilym welcomed the new Board, emphasising their commitment to the organisation's founding principles and future vision. "This year marks VACC's 106th year of industry advocacy. Our new Board embodies both the experience and ideas needed to lead our 5,000 members through the transformative changes ahead in the automotive industry."

Looking to the Future
The new Board takes the helm at a crucial time for the automotive industry. Mr Beruldsen, upon accepting the role, outlined the key priorities: "As we navigate the transition to electric vehicles, address skills development, and strengthen our engagement with government stakeholders, VACC's role has never been more important. Working alongside our national body MTAA, we're committed to achieving positive outcomes for our members at both state and national levels."
Member Support and Engagement
The new Board emphasises its commitment to member support, particularly as the industry faces technological transitions and evolving consumer expectations. Two first-time Board members, Anthony Schache and Carly Ruggeri, bring fresh perspectives that will enhance VACC's ability to serve its diverse membership base.
"Our members are at the heart of everything we do," says CEO Geoff Gwilym. "This new Board composition ensures we have the right mix of experience and innovation to support our members through upcoming industry changes while maintaining the high standards VACC has always represented."
Historical Significance
As one of Australia's oldest and most respected industry bodies, VACC's leadership transition represents more than just a change in governance. It symbolises the organisation's ability to evolve while maintaining its core values and commitment to member service.
