Dear Mr. James S Tisch
My wife and I have just returned from a one-week stay at one of your properties in Orlando. It had been 11 years since our last weeklong vacation. In the past and even this time, we stayed at our go-to property the Portofino Resort in Orlando. We stay there three other times. But once we arrived on our floor we noticed things had changed at the property. There was spilled coffee on the floor in front of the elevator door. It remained there for three days. Walking down the hall someone must have hit the wall with a luggage cart and there was a hole in the wall and a pile of drywall dust on the floor. Once we entered our room we noticed that the bathroom floor had not been mopped for some time it looked like the dirt was ground-in to stay. The living area needed to vacuum. As you would expect we were not happy. We were paying a premium price for something that looked like a dirty budget motel. Things got much worse. After three days living in the room, I decided you complain to the management. So that morning I went down to the front desk to speak with the manager in charge. It was the night manager. I attempted to explain to her the deficiencies of the property that I saw, but she did not want to hear it. She told me she did not like my tone and told me she was going to call security. I did raise my voice, but I do speak loud. Once she told me that I returned to my room. Within minutes three security personnel knock on my door. Why does it take three security officers and, what had I done to deserve this kind of treatment? I enter the hall to speak with security and informed them of my discussion with the night manager and pointed out a number of problems with the property. Their only response was this is your first warning. Warning for what, because I complained to the night manager. If this is your new normal we will no longer stay at any Loews properties. I truly believe you have a number of deficiencies in your personnel training and customer service areas.
