Job Description:

COPPER 360 LTD has a permanent position available for an Electrician - Underground, An underground electrician focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical systems, trackless mobile machinery, and telecommunications. In this role, your responsibilities include wiring according to technical documents and blueprints and following the Mine Health and Safety Act. (Act No29 of 1996)

The person will report to the Electrical Foreman.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that a good standard of safety awareness is maintained
• Ensure that section personnel comply with the required Health and Safety and Environmental standards
• Ensure good housekeeping standards and maintained
• Daily, Weekly, and Monthly inspections are to be done
• Electrical Maintenance on all underground machinery
• Must be able to work overtime when required.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Understanding & Application of the Mines Health and Safety Act and Regulations (Act No29 of 1996)
• Qualified Tradesman in Electrician
• Grade 12 and/or N2 (NQF Lev 3)
• Code 8 driver’s license
• Medical Fitness Certificate
• Computer Literacy
• Good General Health
• 2-3 years in an underground environment

Knowledge and Other Skills Required:

• Minimum 3 years experience in a role as an Underground Electrician.
• Sound planning (Time Management) and organizational abilities
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize
• Good Customer and interpersonal skills
• Ability to function on your own, and within a team environment
• Independent, self-motivated, proactive thinking
• Ability to communicate well within a team environment
• Maintenance and critical spare part management.
• Driver’s license (Code 08).
• Compliance of the Mine Health Safety Act and Regulations (Act No. 29 of 1996).
• Computer literacy MS suite.
