VACANCY – Accountant

We are recruiting for a dynamic Accountant to join our Finance department. Reporting to the Finance

Manager and the Financial Director, the ideal candidate should meet the following requirements and be

able to fill the subsequent responsibilities:

Skills and requirements:

– Minimum qualification: BCom Degree.

– Minimum experience: 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

– Advantage: MS Navision knowledge & experience.

– Strong financial background.

– Computer literacy – Ms Word, Ms Excel, Outlook, Internet, Ms Navision (advantage).

– Self-starter & self-motivated, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and work without supervision.

– Pro-active & energetic, with the ability to work under pressure.

– Pragmatic approach & positive demeanour.

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Afrikaans required.

Key Responsibilities:

– Assisting the Finance Manager in managing the accounting function i.e. Costings, Reporting, Generation of management info.

– Process foreign currency payments/receipts.

– Reconcile general ledger accounts.

– Process month-end transactions & journals.

– Reconcile & complete prescribed month-end procedures.

– Prepare & file VAT submissions.

– Maintain the fixed asset register.

– Ensure all statutory requirements are met.

– Assist the Finance Manager with other ad/hoc projects as required.
