??Meet These Food Heroes: Miyoko Schinner and Emmanuel Brehier
#FoodHeroes20?features 20 individuals who are transforming outdated food systems and changing the narrative around possibilities of thriving without necessarily harming the planet. This month, we shared the story of two food heroes with you.
I travelled through Europe at the age of 20, tasting every cheese possible,
says? Miyoko Schinner , CEO and Founder of? Miyoko's Creamery . ?? In her first year in business, Miyoko leased a 4,000-square-foot former grocery store and built it into a small cheese factory. Now, they have over 200 employees and are sold in 30,000 stores, primarily in the US and Canada.?
We want to show people that a plant-based diet is not a constraint, but an opportunity to open up to many new flavors,
says Emmanuel BREHIER , Co-Founder of HARi&CO . What started as a tandem of agriculture students hungry for a change (and some legumes!) is now a team of 25 mission-led individuals distributing to over 6,000 restaurants and 3,000 stores. ??

Businesses may take advantage of these trends by positioning their products around aiding the digestive and immune systems. Plant-based food producers may benefit even more, since plant-based foods are highly regarded as being beneficial for digestive health.
