Uzbekistan Air Cargo Notes | 6 June 2024

This week we are reporting on CargoPoint transporting the first-ever shipment on the China-Europe route, Turkish Airlines resuming flights to Afghanistan, Uzbekistan Airways to connect Karshi and St. Petersburg, and more.


CargoPoint New Air Silk Road

  • CargoPoint has successfully transported the first-ever shipment on the China-Europe route using a combination of Truck + Air from Guangzhou to Istanbul via Tashkent
  • By using Tashkent as a transit hub, CargoPoint alleviates the issues caused by geopolitical tensions, airspace restrictions, and limited air capacity on the direct route between Asia and Europe

Turkish Airlines resumes flights to Afghanistan (source)

  • Turkish Airlines resumed direct passenger flights ex Istanbul (Turkiye) to Kabul (Afghanistan) VV on 21 May 2024
  • The flights are operated 4 times per week on Airbus A330-203 aircraft

Uzbekistan Airways to connect Karshi and St. Petersburg (source)

  • Uzbekistan Airways is set to operate direct passenger flights ex Karshi (Uzbekistan) to St. Petersburg (Russia) starting on 24 June 2024
  • The flights will be operated every Monday using Airbus 320 Neo aircraft

Salam Air to resume flights to Almaty (source)

  • Salam Air, Oman’s low-cost airline, to resume passenger flights ex Muscat (Oman) to Almaty (Kazakhstan) on 18 June 2024
  • The flights will be operated twice a week on Airbus A320/A321 aircraft

Ural Airlines resumed flights to Kyrgyzstan (source)

  • Ural Airlines, a Russian low-cost airline, resumed direct passenger flights ex Sochi (Russia) to Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) VV on 25 May 2024
  • The passenger flights are operated once a week on Airbus A320 aircraft

Uzbekistan Airways to operate flights to Nizhnevartovsk (source)

  • Uzbekistan Airways is set to operate direct passenger flights ex Tashkent to Nizhnevartovsk on 14 June 2024
  • The flights will be operated every Friday using Airbus 320 Neo equipment
