Four years ago I went to an interview, it went well, I got the job.?Let me share with you two things that stood out to me about this interview.

I ended the interview with a phrase that went,

Preparation + Opportunity = Success.

The supervisor asked me a deep question.?He asked, Would you consider Event Production to be your calling??I said, Yes.

Remember, Event Production can be considered an application of Human Centered Computing.?Client customization and usability are at the heart of the matter.?Environmental installations and Tangible Computing can become a reality with?lighting?and?projection?technology.?In Event Production you are creating a unique Experience, it is Experience Design.

At one point I thought the magic of experience design had died because I knew what went on behind the curtain.?But that is not true.?Not only have I been able to continue to set up for events, recently I had the opportunity to run graphics for an event.?We had headsets that we could communicate with each other in and it was great.

Right now, I am watching a?Simon Sinek?video and it is helping me consider my Academic and Professional journey.?Is what you do a part of your calling?
