UX and UI are the terms most often used in the field of design. Do you know what these abbreviations mean and what is their definition? We have collected important information about User Experience and User Interface for you.
What will you find in the article?
UX - User Experience
The primary goal of UX design is to improve the user experience. The point is to create the best possible space for navigating the application or website.
UX Designer works to offer the user optimal and intuitive paths of use and allow the user to use the application or website in the easiest and most pleasant way. As a result - when designing user experience, UX Designer asks himself a number of questions: ”What happens when he clicks this button? Is the transition from this site to another smooth? Where to place the CTA button? Are the steps in the form simple enough?” These and other questions accompany the UX Designer during the process of creating mock-ups and prototypes.
In addition, the design process usually includes user research that helps understand the experience of a selected group of Internet users.
UI - User Interface
User Interface is all elements of a given device, application, website or software that allow the user to interact with the system. Elements that are included in the concept of UI include: colors, content layout, buttons, typeface and font size. And also: graphics, photos, animations, menus, forms. In short, UI design encompasses the look and feel of a digital product.
The biggest challenge for a UI Designer is to organize these elements and design them in such a way that the final effect is as eye-friendly as possible and encourages the user to interact with the system.
The process of designing the user interface is more technical, therefore it requires from the designer not only graphic skills, but also a sense of aesthetics and creativity. It is thanks to the work of the UI Designer, who designs all visual and interactive elements, that the user interface is attractive, logical and intuitive.
Differences between UX and UI Design
Various tasks
UX focuses on researching user needs and designing experiences. The task of the UX Designer is to develop maximum usability. On the other hand, UI focuses on the aesthetics and functionality of the interface, and the final product is to be aesthetic and attractive.
Different skills
UX and UI design require completely different skills. The UX Designer's tasks focus on user research, prototyping and testing. A UI Designer, on the other hand, must have graphic design skills. In other words: UI is all the visual elements of a digital product, while UX is the sum of interactions that build user experience.

Other impact on the user
The difference that is worth paying attention to is also the impact the design work of both UX and UI Designer has on the user. UX is responsible for making the product easy to use and meeting the needs of users, while UI is responsible for the attractiveness of the product, which is to encourage the user to use the digital product.
What connects UX and UI Design?
Both UX and UI refer to interface design and the final design has the same goal: the best user experience.
Designing a good and dedicated UI is not possible without the implementation of the UX stage. As we already know - UX deals with the study and understanding of users' needs, and the results of this research serve as the basis for designing an interface that is friendly and tailored to the user's needs.
Cooperation between specialists in the field of UX and UI allows for a better understanding of the needs of users and, as a result, adapting the design of the interface to the preferences of users. The phased building of the project, starting with research and UX tasks, has a close impact on how the UI Designer specialist will implement the project. These areas overlap and both have a significant impact on the final, good and adapted design.
