Here are top stories of the last week of January from Ukrainian global communities:

?? The Ukrainian World Congress extends heartfelt thanks to the hundreds of thousands of people worldwide who supported Ukraine to commemorate the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and registered their events on UWC’s live, interactive map.

Together, Ukrainians and their friends held 1,123 events that spanned 78 countries.

?? The Ukrainian community in Italy is leading a campaign against the screening of a documentary produced by the Russian state TV network RT (formerly Russia Today), whose screening is scheduled at a municipal Genoan building in northern Italy.

?? Lesia Maruschak, a Canadian artist of Ukrainian descent, who is best known for her groundbreaking exhibition on the Holodomor, has unveiled a new project titled, “OUR RIUKZAK: Maria + Yehor”. The initiative whose principal all caps titled word means “rucksack,” or “bookbag,” sheds light on the realities of Russia’s war against Ukraine through the eyes of a child, while also exploring genocide and national identity through photography and art.??

Nataliya Poshyvaylo-Towler, UWC Vice President for Southern and Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Türkiye, and Lebanon, delivered an address at a pro-Ukraine rally in Melbourne on Feb. 24: "As a mother, a woman, the Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress, and the Chairwoman of the Ukrainian Women’s Association of Victoria, I stand here today with a heavy heart but with unwavering determination".

?? UWC co-organized speech by Ukrainian defender in Danish parliament. The initiative was part of UWC’s cooperation with the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War (CHTPW).
