UUM SUCCESSFULLY ATTAINS THE AMBA INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION

UUM ONLINE:?Universiti Utara Malaysia through the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) has successfully obtained re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), an international accreditation body for business education. This re-accreditation is valid for the next 5 years.

AMBA, based in London, United Kingdom (UK) has recognised OYAGSB after it successfully completed the AMBA re-accreditation audit process on 13 and 14 June. OYAGSB has recently received the official results.

The Chief Executive of AMBA and Business Graduates Association (BGA), Mr. Andrew Main Wilson, extended his congratulations to OYAGSB for its remarkable success.

"This business school is an important part of our exclusive network and I am very happy that they have been re-accredited," he said in an official statement on the AMBA website.

The achievement of OYAGSB was also acknowledged by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan, who regarded the re-accreditation by AMBA as a prestigious recognition for the university.

According to him, the re-accreditation from AMBA ensures that OYAGSB is able to maintain compliance with the highest educational and professional standards, while also fulfilling the strict criteria set by the accreditation body.

"The sweet success currently enjoyed by OYAGSB presents a significant challenge for our institution to maintain its position as a leading promoter of MBA and PhD programmes on the global stage.

"I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the academics as well as the administrative and professional staff of OYAGSB for this excellent achievement," he said.

Meanwhile, the Dean of OYAGSB, Prof. Dr. Hassan Abu Bakar expressed that this achievement reflects the ongoing improvement efforts and the camaraderie among members of OYAGSB.?

"Praise be to Allah, I am grateful to the Vice-Chancellor and university management for their unwavering support towards OYAGSB.

"Insya-Allah, OYAGSB is currently progressing towards establishing itself as the premier business school in both the Asian region and worldwide," he said.

OYAGSB has obtained AMBA accreditation since 2015, followed by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 2016 and the Central and Eastern Europe and Management Development (CEEMEN) in 2018.

In 2020, OYAGSB made its debut in the QS Global MBA ranking, securing the position of 201+ worldwide, 37th in Asia and 6th in Southeast Asia.

OYAGSB is the only business school from Malaysia that has been included in the prestigious QS Global MBA listing.
