.) What was your reaction when you found out you’d won? I was super surprised and also excited. I had no idea that I was going to win, but it felt really good to be recognized by everyone.
.) How was the last month different from the previous ones? It wasn’t that much different at all. It’s still about working and getting the job done, and I love doing what I do.

.) How did you get your start with the organization? What has that journey been like? I started with Larry H. Miller property Management as a landscaper, enjoyed it. Then I was asked if I had any interest in taking care of the day-to-day maintenance issues at the practice facility… I said, “yes.” Then when Ryan (Smith) bought the team, I was asked if I wanted to become a full-time employee at Zion’s Bank Basketball Campus (ZBBC) taking care of everything. Again, I said “yes,” and here we are today.?
.) If asked, how would you describe your role to someone who didn’t know? I think the easiest and best way to describe my role is that I’m the Facilities Manager at the Jazz practice facility. I do all of the maintenance work while also overseeing the day-to-day building issues as well.?
.) What is the best part of your role? What is the toughest part? It’s unique for me because I get to work with EVERY department both at the ZBBC and Delta Center. It’s great because I get to meet and know everyone. The toughest part is honestly just trying to manage multiple projects at one time. I feel as if I do a good job at doing that but it’s still a lot because things are always changing and improving here.
.) What is the best part of being with the organization? That’s easy… I really like how much freedom there is for everyone here to do their job. We really do have the best people working here and it shows in everything that gets done for the organization.
.) Is this your dream job? If not, what is? As an adult, this is definitely my dream job. I mea, as a kid I wanted to play in the NBA like everyone else… and I wanted to play for the Jazz. Unfortunately I was never good enough to play, but this has been amazing… it’s like a full circle kind of moment.?
.) Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years? I definitely want to be a part of the organization… I love being a part of this team. Ultimately though, it would be awesome to be a part of the executive team at some point… or have a position that’s something like that.
.) Any advice/inspiration you’d give to someone looking to join the Jazz organization? Work your butt off, always be willing to help others, go into everything with a positive attitude, and realize that nothing is going to be handed to you. You have to earn everything… but I promise you that it’s worth it.
