UT Dallas Students Bridging Companies Across Borders
As some of you may know, this semester I was fortunate enough to participate once again in Global Development Initiative (GDI). This program is a partnership between the Richardson Chamber of Commerce, the Richardson Economic Development Partnership, and the UT Dallas Center for Global Business. GDI has continued to evolve and grow, and I am proud to have returned after participating a couple of years ago.
This semester, my team and I worked with Canadian healthcare technology firm Bloom Care Solutions to conduct market analysis and evaluate the best options for foreign market entry modes. After many meetings with the company reps, our brilliant mentor Monica Scott, and the greater GDI program, we produced a market analysis report and recommendations for a soft-landing plan. Last Friday, we presented our research and recommendations to the Bloom Care Solutions executive team and very much look forward to hopefully admiring years of their success in the U.S. market.
This is such a fantastic experience for students like myself to develop client-facing and market research skills that can be directly applied to careers in international business. I am very thankful to GDI administrators Lawrence P. Howorth and Hubert Zydorek, Project Managers Jamie Schmidt, Amelia Yin, and Briana Wright, and Richardson Mayor Paul Voelker for their commitment to making this program successful.
Using business skills for good.
