Unmanned Systems Technology
The world’s largest ecosystem for unmanned systems #technology and #innovation.
Here’s a quick roundup of some of this week’s top news and developments in the unmanned industry…
As part of the development of the first EASA-certified UAS, Volz Servos?is to supply certifiable actuators that will equip?Thales's UAS100 long-range drone.
Volz and Thales signed the contract that also calls on Volz subsidiary Aircraft Electronic Engineering (AEE) to develop the actuators that will be compliant with both?EASA and?FAA regulations.
Advanced Navigation?has expanded its range of Boreas digital fibre-optic gyroscope (DFOG) sensors with the release of the new A Series. The Boreas A90 and A70 are strategic-grade IMUs, which deliver acceleration and orientation data with superior accuracy, stability and reliability for UAVs and unmanned systems.
The new IMUs feature ultra-fast automatic gyrocompassing and can acquire and maintain an accurate heading under all conditions with no reliance on GNSS, making them well-suited for surveying, mapping and navigation across subsea, marine, land and air applications.
The?FAA has approved the noise certification standards for?Ondas Holdings' Optimus-1EX drone system, in connection with the Type Certification process that Ondas’ wholly-owned business?Airobotics?began with the FAA in 2019.
Meeting the noise requirements criteria is the final major step towards completing the Type Certification process that will help fulfill the company’s vision of deploying fleets of Optimus systems as a permanent drone infrastructure for the purpose of providing Smart City, Public Safety, Drone as a First Responder (DFR), and other commercial and industrial aerial data services.
