Using video drama to engage with the culture of large organisations

Drama for Change launch

March marked the launch of Nice Media ’s new product Drama for Change . Drama for Change uses video drama as the core asset in a campaign designed to disrupt and develop organisational cultures. Going forward, most of my content will be focussed on my thinking around culture change and our approach to it.?Here’s the launch article .

Game of Thrones as a corporate exemplar

The Drama for Change article makes reference to Game of Thrones and the social media design that accompanied the launch of that original series.?Here’s a link to one of my What Can TV Teach L&D? videos on this subject.

LinkedIn Live coming your way

I've just begun a regular LinkedIn Live session on Wednesday mornings at 1100 UK time on the subject of Drama for Change - in other words how can we use video drama as an agent of culture change in large organisations. The idea is that my presentation will develop as my ideas develop, so please do drop by to ask a question to get me thinking and improving. Here's a little clip from the last one.

How to make the best use of video in learning

Earlier in March we did a webinar about How to make the best use of video in learning.?This was a comprehensive overview of pretty much every video format there is, giving tips on best use of the medium and blowing away some of the myths and misconceptions I regularly see. Here's a link to a recording of my presentation .

There’s also an article that gathers together a lot of the advice in summary form.

Learning myths persist via search engines

While attending a presentation about child development at my son’s school I noticed the often seen misinterpretation of Albert Mehrabian’s figures about how our attention is divided while listening to a presentation – suggesting that we only take 7% of the meaning of a speech from the actual content.?This is a misunderstanding of these findings. In the spirit of learning theory myth busting I wrote a little article about this.

We won!

Our month ended with the fantastic news that Nice Media won two awards in the Learning Excellence Awards event for our work with the South Central Ambulance Service and other elements of the NHS as detailed in this post.

We won both the Public Services and Utilities Sector award and Outstanding External Provider Gold award. Part of this project involved producing a hard-hitting, four-episode video drama looking at the complex issues that frontline staff can face in relation to a mental health crises.??So, very much resonant with my general theme of using drama to affect behaviour and culture.
