Using Twitter (X.com) to Drive 97% of New Business as a Financial Advisor

Today, I’m talking with Thomas Kopelman, founder and lead financial planner at AllStreet Wealth, to discuss how he built a thriving financial advisory firm from scratch and developed a personal brand that now drives 97% of new business through Twitter (X).

Starting at just 25 years of age, Thomas quickly earned recognition as one of Investopedia’s Top 100 Financial Advisors in both 2022 and 2023. By focusing on creating valuable, engaging and authentic content, he turned Twitter into a powerful growth engine for AllStreet Wealth .

In this conversation, Thomas shares the step-by-step methods he’s used to build an engaged audience of 28,600 followers and create content that converts. If you're looking to amplify your online presence, build your personal brand and grow your advisory firm, this conversation is packed with actionable insights from one of the industry's rising stars.

My Key Takeaways:

How Twitter Became a Secret Weapon for Attracting Clients

  • Thomas breaks down how he turned Twitter into a client magnet by being real, sharing valuable insights and building a personal brand that does the talking for him. Now, 97% of his clients come from Twitter without him ever having to “sell.”

“Short-form content is how you stay active, stay relevant. Long-form content is how you convert people to clients.?– Thomas Kopelman

Social Media Isn’t a Quick Fix—It’s the Long Game

  • Forget chasing quick wins—social media is all about playing the long game. Thomas explains how showing up consistently, delivering real value and letting clients come to you when they’re ready builds a rock-solid pipeline that lasts. It doesn’t happen overnight.

“When you don't have followers, that is your best time to put out the most amount of content you can and learn to become better.”?– Thomas Kopelman

A No-Fuss Fee Model that Puts Clients First

  • Thomas has taken all the friction out of pricing with a fee structure that gives clients options—whether they want flat fees or AUM, it’s all about what works best for them. Simple, clear and built to grow with his clients.

“I want to give everybody the choice…I don’t care what model you pick. We want to help you.”?– Thomas Kopelman

Thomas is offering a 10% discount on his course, “How to Build Your Personal Brand and Get Your First Client from Social Media,” which includes 20+ videos and over five hours of content to help you and your team crush it on social media. Please note, Triad is an AllStreet Academy Ambassador.

More on Doing Business and Doing Life.

97% of Thomas Kopelman’s financial firm's revenue is directly driven from Twitter!

I’ve never seen a model like this in my almost two decades of consulting and coaching some of the top performing advisors in America. The question is, how does he do it? After an hour-long conversation with Thomas, I learned that he actually replicates many of the strategies I’ve become familiar with?Gary Vaynerchuk.

He's replicating strategies like:

  • Taking his most popular content and repurposing it repeatedly with slight tweaks and variations
  • Committing to consistently creating content on a super regimented basis (now posting up to 40 times a week)
  • Joining the conversation on Twitter by interacting with others to add value to their conversations and provide thoughtful posts on their content.

?

Thomas estimates that his followers only see 25% of what he posts, so the more content he posts, the more opportunities he has for one of his posts to connect with his followers.

None of this is rocket science, but what is often missed in discussions of building a platform and personal brand is the commitment to consistently showing up and putting in the WORK. It’s a similar sentiment to when people want to be physically fit but struggle to achieve their goals when they don't commit to showing up at the gym daily.

This conversation with Thomas was one of the most fun interviews that I’ve done in a long time and has strategically changed how I post and create content.?Here’s a link to the slide deck?where Gary Vaynerchuk outlines his content creation strategy, which aligns with much of what Thomas shared in this week’s episode.

I hope this episode helps you expand your value online and allows you to build your platform!
