Hey there, innovative business leaders and forward-thinking professionals!
Trish Uhl here, and I've got something mind-blowing to share with you today. ?? We're often talking about the impact of AI and the future of work, right? Well, folks, the future is now, and it's powered by AI. ?? But it's not just L&D – this is about to change everything.
I've spent the past year designing teams of autonomous AI agents to plan, reason, and execute on project work - and the tools just keep getting easier and better. ???
I've just wrapped up another experiment using Microsoft's Autogen, a multiagent autonomous AI framework, and let me tell you – it's a game-changer. ?? Imagine designing a comprehensive data literacy training program in the time it takes to pour a cup of coffee. ? Sounds impossible? That's exactly what I did.
Or, rather, what I had a team of autonomous AI agents do. ??
Here's the scoop:
1. I set up multiple AI agents – a Content Designer, an Instructional Designer, and a Program Evaluator. ??
2. Assigned them a project - to design a data literacy course. ??
3. Sat back and watched the magic happen. In seconds. At a cost of 19 cents. ????
These AI agents conducted real-time Internet research, collaborated, and designed a full training course structure complete with learning objectives, interactive elements, and assessments. ???? The kicker? They even provided a final program evaluation with estimated completion times. ???
In the video below, you'll see how I designed a 40-50 hour data literacy training program in less than 5 minutes, at a cost of only 19 cents. Yes, you read that right. ????
What does a multiagent autonomous AI framework look like?
But here's where it gets really exciting: This is just one example of how autonomous AI agents can revolutionize project work across all industries. Let me break it down for you to get a glimpse of how multiagent frameworks like Autogen work:
How did this code translate into AI agent task completion and work product deliverables?
Introducing my autonomous AI agent team
?? Content Designer: This AI agent conducted Internet research, outlined key content areas, with citations, then created a detailed training outline with clear learning objectives, sample content, and interactive elements for each section of the training program.
?? Instructional Designer: This AI developed high-level instructional materials that include comprehensive explanations, interactive elements (videos, quizzes, case studies), and varied assessment methods based on the document provided by the Content Designer.
?? Program Evaluator: This AI agent reviewed the design materials, ensured they meet all requirements (adaptability, diversity in technical backgrounds, practical applications, accessibility, and comprehensive estimated time requirements), and compiled a final overview for the training program.
What are the measurable business benefits? ????
The potential time and cost savings are staggering.
In my training design example: ??
- Industry average development time: 55 to 116 hours per 20 minute segment ??

- My design time with AI agents: Less than 5 minutes (lol took me longer to talk about it than it took it to run!) ???
- My design cost: 19 cents ??
Now, imagine applying this to:
1. Software Development: AI agents collaborating to design, code, and test complex systems in record time. ????
2. Marketing Campaigns: AI agents creating, testing, and optimizing multi-channel strategies in minutes. ????
3. Product Design: AI agents rapidly prototyping and iterating on designs, considering countless variables simultaneously. ?????
While development would still require human input, the efficiency gains are undeniable. ??
This raises critical questions for every industry:
1. How could autonomous AI agents transform your business processes? ????
2. What projects, previously deemed too time-consuming or costly, could now be viable? ????
3. How might this change the role of human experts in project execution? ????
4. What ethical considerations should guide our integration of AI agents into workflows? ????
Let's be candid: This technology will disrupt traditional project roles and workflows. It's not just about augmenting human capabilities; in many cases, it's about AI taking over entire phases of project work. As leaders, we must proactively address these shifts.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, my friends. The potential for AI in project execution is enormous, and we're only scratching the surface. ????
If you're intrigued and want to learn more, I'm facilitating a hands-on workshop at the upcoming Chicago eLearning & Technology Showcase (CETS) in August. We'll explore practical applications of this technology specific to learning & talent development.
The workshop, ? Embarking on the Generative AI Mastery Journey: Elevating L&D for Enhanced Performance ? , is designed for L&D practitioners to begin mastering generative AI for enhancing workplace learning and performance. Participants will explore inspiring case studies, engage in interactive exercises, and develop strategic plans to effectively utilize AI in learning. They will discover generative AI's transformative potential, examine real-world applications, and create action plans for integrating AI into their L&D functions. ?? Join us for a session that will equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to drive business impact through AI-powered learning solutions.
Are you excited about autonomous AI agents? Skeptical? Somewhere in between? Drop your thoughts in the comments – I'd love to hear your take on this!
Yay cake!

4 个月The AI possibilities when it comes to content creation are surely amazing Trish! Collaborating with subject matter experts is surely time consuming and using AI agents (especially those can be trained on the most up to date policies, practices, case studies, etc) to create content outputs that are in complete alignment with organizational expectations is a huge time savings! I've experienced time savings in the needs analysis and performance rubric designing processes using AI too. However, many of the instructional design hours some in the shape of facilitating the program either in-person or creating an e-learning program. I'm curious how much AI can help with cost savings in these areas. And ... what differences we see in performance and business outcomes in AI facilitated training programs versus human generated programs! Though, in all honesty, I believe the reality for us going forward will be AI and human collaborations in all things L&D and otherwise!
