Using Social Media for Personal Branding

Ninety-two percent of people trust recommendations from individuals (even if they don’t know them) over brands.

That’s quite an astonishing figure, isn’t it?

Well, that’s the power of Personal Branding.

When you create a brand around your personality, people perceive you as an authentic and verified source for any recommendation. And this is one of the primary reason why social media is a powerful tool for building a personal brand.

“Why” to use Social Media for Personal Branding?

Humans are social animals. Blah blah blah.

Social Media is the place where people can act raw and real, and that’s what exactly helps in creating a strong personal brand.

Having a blog is cool, fine, and necessary. At the same time, social media channels have millions of audience scrolling through feeds at any given moment.

You can be ‘you’ on social media channels- showing people what do you do, how do you do it, what and when do you eat, etc etc etc.

LinkedIn shows how many articles you have published so far on the platform. So, in case anyone visits your profile, he/she can directly go and check out the articles.

Here’s what the screen shows when you click on my last article on LinkedIn. It shows I have published 7 articles on LinkedIn so far, which you can read by clicking on the link.

Instagram Stories are definitive Engagement-booster

Instagram now provides a variety of options among — question sticker, polls, emoji slider etc, which you can use to put on your stories. These stories last only 24hr, so it creates an urgency-vibe among viewers.

Also, these 24-hr stories can be used as your daily journal. Show the world how you spend your day.

Facebook Groups help you create a community

No matter how people scare that Facebook is dead, it truly isn’t. Facebook groups are the secret keys that have been performing well to grow engagements for brands.

A little creativity, and you’ll be spreading your brand message through the channels.

Showcase your domain authority

Don’t forget the ultimate goal. You want to attract people towards what you do for a living. That’s how you’ll be strengthening your personal brand.

Show people “behind the scene” actions. Tell us what and how you do everything in practice. Let the world know things that people otherwise don’t talk about — regarding your expertise.
