Using short cut keys to speed up your point cloud workflow
I get a lot of questions about time saving tips when working with point clouds. One of my favorites is to simply use shortcut keys to quickly access commonly used commands.
Most point cloud processing software support shortcut or hotkeys to some degree. In Trimble RealWorks you can find a full list of short cut keys by opening the Help menu found under the Support tab.
From the Help menu click on the search tab and type in, “shortcut”.
In addition to the standard CTRL C to Copy and CRTL V to paste, some of my favorites are F4 to open the limit box and CTRL M to merge two cloud objects.
You can click the print button to make a hard copy or save to a file to share.
To be even more efficient I use a mouse which allows me to assign short cut keys to the buttons on it.
I have assigned the thumb button save projects. This way I can do it quickly and often in case the software closes unexpectedly such as umm when the power fails. I have also set a button on the mouse to go to the top view as I use this often when working with point cloud data.
So try using short cut keys to speed up you point cloud processing.

5 年I wish you could assign shortcut keys to certain commands or buttons. For example, zooming in would be great if one could assign it to "z"
It's probably a well known command and it's not a short-key, but after 2 years of using TRW I finally found out about the Magnifier Mode with letter "N". So simple, but so efficient! I use it every time I touch TRW now!?
