Using Railroad Commission Data for Account Based Sales
The Railroad Commission of Texas was established in 1891 it is the oldest regulatory agency in the state and one of the oldest of its kind in the nation. They have divided the state into districts to help better manage the requirements of their customers. I am a fan of Account Based Sales/Marketing and the first step is Market Segmentation. I recommend that you consider the geographic territories used by the Commission as seen in the maps below. I will run a series of posts that out line an Account Based Selling strategy using Commission data.
Market Segmentation
- This is defined by how you divide the broad target market into subsets of buyers. These buyers should have common needs, priorities and solution options. One of the key goals is to estimate the market opportunity of each market and evaluate your market share.
