Using the power of technology to serve our customers
This year, CCEP is investing around €550m in key areas of the business, in order to deliver a world-class customer experience and long-term growth for both CCEP and our customers.
A significant proportion of this investment focuses on new digital tools and technology. We’ve been busy testing and trialing what will have the biggest benefit on enabling us to serve more customers, better than ever.
One of those recent trials looked at how we can use technology to tackle out of stock products.
I want consumers to be able to enjoy our full range of great drinks, wherever they are. Empty or partially stocked shelves are a massive source of frustration for consumers and our customers, who miss out on potential sales.
Our field sales reps and merchandisers are out in the field serving customers all the time, but it is incredibly tough to keep shelves fully stocked, particularly during peak times.
We commissioned a crowdsourcing partner to help us build a better picture of where and when our products are out of stock. The technology allows people to take photos of empty shelves and fridges across multiple environments, like supermarket and cafes. The data is delivered to us in within four hours and enables us to generate insights based on store location, product range, time of day and other information.
Digital tools like this give CCEP the opportunity to be much quicker and more agile in making sure that our products are within reach of consumers and our customers don’t lose out on sales.
Over the next months, we will continue to take a test and learn approach by working with new technology and digital partners, with the aim to gather insight to deliver the biggest benefit to our customers, CCEP and the people who enjoy our drinks every day.
