Using Mindfulness to Speak Life to your Water

Did you know that water is life and it carries energy?

Did you also know that you can talk to water and tell it what to do?

Before you run away, hear me out for a few minutes. I promise you this is not some 'hocus-pocus' stuff.

Have you ever just stopped to wonder what water is? Other than its chemical makeup (H20), what is this thing? It's barely anything, but it's everything at the same time.

Water is an essential substance of all living beings, creatures, and things. For our body's systems to operate, water is a must.?For the Earth to flourish, water is a must. It carries 'messages' in the form of nutrients and oxygen. It's the base of all substances in our bodies and around us.

Water stores information and has memory as well. It signals all cellular activity in our body, especially our brain.

Did you know that the brain is approximately 73% water??No wonder we get so foggy when we are dehydrated; it's like we are losing consciousness.

*Please take a brief moment to sip some water right now! Your brain will thank you later*

Water tells your body what to do and when to do it. For this matter, it's pertinent for us to drink clean, safe, toxin-free water since it's the core component of our existence.

Since water is an excellent carrier of messages, there's no doubt that it can carry the ones we speak into it. With the help of mindfulness, this is attainable.

Don't believe me? but this same knowledge has been practiced for centuries.?Think of 'holy water'- the prayer is believed to change the frequency of the water. Speaking life into your water can be a powerful way to heal, restore and cleanse the body. Words are bonds and carry meaning.?

*Sidenote: So make sure you're speaking good things of and about yourself - and others.*

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness uses awareness to be present with your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations without casting judgment or trying to change them. The goal is to observe and bring focus to everything at that moment. So how can mindfulness help you speak life into your water?

Mindfully Taking a Shower

Yes, you read that right; you can mindfully take a shower.

Instead of using shower time to rehash old arguments in your head (like, seriously, why do we do this?) or rehearsing future convos, you can use that time to go within and be present.

There isn't harm in doing these things; however, they allow you to focus on your outward experiences and the future.?Mindful showering requires you to focus on your internal state while shutting out the world.

So how do you do this?

  1. It's always great to start any mindful practice with deep breaths; breathing in and out a few times is good.
  2. How are you feeling at the moment? Good day, rough day?
  3. Pay attention to the flow and feel of the water. Is it hot or cold??
  4. What soap are you using? Is it your fave? How does it make you feel? What thoughts or memories does it evoke?
  5. As you lather your body, notice how it feels on your skin. How does your loofah or washcloth feel? (or whatever you use)
  6. Close your eyes, take deep breaths, and sit with all your emotions and sensations- or in this case, stand.

Now while in this meditative state, speak life to the water and tell it what to do.

The key here is to use visualization.

You don't necessarily have to talk; you can mentally do this.

After a rough day, for example, you can visualize the water washing away your troubles and worries. You can say things such as:

  • "I'm grateful for this moment, this opportunity."
  • "I wash away _________" (whatever negative state you don't want)
  • "This water nourishes, cleanses, and purifies my body, etc."

Anything that makes you feel good is superb. Just welcome the goodness and benefits of the water.

You should feel more relaxed after.

2. Mindfully Talking to Water When You Drink

This is my favorite way to send messages to my water. It requires very minimal effort. Speaking to water before you drink it can help raise the water's frequency and energy.

As I mentioned earlier, water is critical for all cellular processes in the body.

So before you ingest, adding messages and affirmations can be beneficial.

So how do you do this?

  1. Start with mindfulness.
  2. Take a deep breath.
  3. Be present at the moment.
  4. Be grateful for the opportunity to have access to clean drinkable water (gratitude is always a must).

Then speak affirmations into your water. For, e.g.:?

  1. "This water nourishes, hydrates, and purifies me."
  2. "This water is cleansing; my organs are happy."
  3. "I am healing, and I am well."
  4. "Bring nutrients to my cells, remove waste from my body."
  5. "Cleanse my blood, remove toxins from my body."

After your mindful drink, notice how the water feels going down your throat- and visualize it reaching every inch of your body as it recharges you.

The list can go on from here. Whatever special message you want the water to carry, you can tell it.

I know this may seem like a lot to remember, and this may not happen all the time, but whenever you can, it is good to be mindful whenever eating/drinking, even if it's to express gratitude.

3. Mindfully Nursing

This right here is for the nursing mamas. I am still breastfeeding and love doing this with my son.

I know that not every woman breastfeeds, and this isn't to single anyone out. But yes, you can still speak life into whatever you feed your baby, even formula.

After all, formula is mostly water, so you can also use this practice. But I'm going to talk about breastfeeding based on my personal experience.

Breastmilk isn't called liquid gold for nothing. It's packed with nutrients, vitamins, minerals, antibodies, etc.?

Mindfully and intentionally, breastfeeding can be a beautiful thing. Sending personal messages in your milk can strengthen the bond between you and your baby.

So how can you do this?

  1. When it's time to nurse, put away all distractions and gadgets.
  2. As always, take deep breaths.?
  3. Be grateful for this moment and the ability to feed and bond with your baby.
  4. Pay attention to your feelings and sensations as well as emotions.
  5. Once the baby latches, notice everything your little one is doing.
  6. Send love messages to your child, aloud or mentally.
  7. As your baby sucks, repeat powerful affirmations to them, such as "you are strong, you are safe and healthy."
  8. As the baby pulls down the milk, visualize this wonderful liquid nourishing their entire body.

It is also essential to be mindful of your state of being while nursing. Whatever you feel, your baby will feel as well. It may not directly impact what you see, but their little bodies can ABSOLUTELY take in energy, especially when nursing.?

When I feel stressed or angry, my son gets irritable and fussy, so just imagine what can happen if I feed him in this mental state. Your emotions, vibe, and frequency can alter the chemical makeup and, potentially, the taste of your breast milk.

Yes, it has happened to me before, and it will happen, but this is to highlight the importance of mindfulness so you can train yourself to be more aware and present.

Breastfeeding is such an intimate and sacred time between mother and child. Amazingly, the human body can create food for vitality, survival, comfort, and nourishment for our babies.

Whatever attributes, wishes, or desires you want for your baby, you can speak them to existence while nursing. As mothers, you are naturally a connection source of vitality for your children- from womb to present, so talking to your breastmilk can be very meaningful and impactful.

*If you are a father or any other caregiver, you can also do this when feeding your little ones.

So There You Have It

With three simple, highly effective ways, you can use mindfulness as a hack to send messages to your water.

I genuinely believe in the power of mindfulness. It can make a massive difference with just a few simple daily steps.

There are numerous ways we can incorporate mindfulness into our lives, even with the most versatile and dominant liquid in the world; WATER.

Have you heard of or tried any of these methods?

What mindful practice do you love to do or intend on trying?
