Using Message Integration to Align and Tell Your Story

I’ve implemented and used the concepts of message integration for about 10 years in organizations of different types and sizes, and while the processes and collateral for each organization and effort may differ, the heart of the issue is still about achieving business outcomes through integrated messaging. The message integration process is not just another set of meetings – it is about team members, from the C-suite to the most junior employee, working to align the actions, words and images of the organization to achieve business and reputation goals.
In this 12-minute podcast with business author, executive coach and executive search CEO Fred Coon, I touch on some of the basics of the message integration process – using working groups, committees, coordination calls, calendars, planning templates and written messaging to facilitate internal and external message alignment. I don’t touch on assessment here, but obviously incorporating an assessment effort into your integration process is necessary to determine the effectiveness of your tactics, and being able to make course corrections is a key element of success in the message integration process.
