Using HOVER to Generate Business in the Off-season

Using HOVER to Generate Business in the Off-season

I wanted to share with you all, something really cool that I’ve noticed contractors doing this time of year. December through March is when much of the country experiences a slow down, if not a complete stop because of the weather. In the Northeast, for example, there is often snow on the ground, snow on the roofs and it can be brutally cold.

In fact, this time of year is great for people like me, because now is when you have time to meet and make decisions that affect your business for the following season! But, I’m not able to meet all of you and have a conversation about ways you can be increasing your business in the off-season, so I’ve written this brief article to share with you, a really cool thing that many contractors have begun implementing.

During their busy season, these contractors have been capturing HOVERs on all their leads. Now we all know, that at least in retail markets, this industry doesn’t provide great repeat business. A new roof today is meant to last 30-50 years! But, what’s great about HOVER’ing a home, is that you’re provided all the measurement data for that property. This includes windows, siding, soffit, trim, doors, gutters and more.

Companies are now spending their slow season revisiting the HOVER’s of homes they already captured, and have completed work for. When you’ve already done a great job on a project for a customer, they are more likely to do business with you again. So what they do, is send out estimates for new windows, new siding, new gutters, and other additional work. With that proposal for work, they’re also including a link to a 3D model of their home. The homeowner has proven to be much more engaged in the decision and more likely to purchase from you when sharing that 3D model.

With several companies utilizing HOVER to generate estimates for additional work in the off-season, I’d encourage you to give it a try! If you have completed a roof for a happy customer and you know their siding may be dated, or windows are not energy efficient, assemble a proposal for them and share with them their 3D model. If you need help sharing the 3D model, please check out this video below.
