Using Defeat as a Springboard.

What if you could speed up the recovery time when you get an emotional blows to your career?

What if the sucker punch to your pride could be overcome when you are terminated, denied a raise in compensation or undervalued?

We all know people who have been derailed by something that happened to them in their professional life. The poor bastards. Many of them never recover.

You can’t really give them advice because they are so fragile.

You can’t tell them that they are painting a rosy picture of themselves and point out where they went wrong.

You can’t pull them out of feeling, acting and conveying being the victim.?But I can.

People think there’s a deficiency in me because I don’t understand the subtleties of business. That is the ego talking. Perhaps it is arrogance. Because when someone feels defeated in the one thing they poured their lifeblood in, their professional life, they don’t care of my seemingly lack of credentials.

In fact, refusal to maneuver in the business world puts me in the perfect position to allow a business client of any stature to come to me and not feel judged. Their defensiveness is rendered inoperable. I can’t judge them on their job performance. I don’t have the reference points. They may in fact judge me. But being underestimated works to my advantage in transforming a client of any distinctintion.

But I am a master at understanding human nature. I can boil any situation down to the human experience. I can also elevate any situation up to a spiritual experience. Most everyone believes in something greater than themselves. Some people at the higher echelon may think of themselves as God itself. That is okay. I can work with them at that level too.

The beauty of what I do works for the office boy up to the decision makers and CEO’s. I am incapable of catering to rank. For many decision makers, it is refreshing to be given truth from someone who isn’t falling over themselves to agree with them. Where is the growth in that?

The following is a recording with an engineer who got blindsided by being fired from a sixteen year position that she loved. This was a defining moment in her career. It could have spiraled her down to a depression and resentfulness that many could not recover. But I helped her use it as a springboard into a better version of herself.
