Based on the definition of Plagiarism from the world’s greatest dictionary, it easily can be for a number of reasons.?
According to Merriam-Webster's online dictionary, plagiarism is defined as:
Look at number 4 above. I believe this is where most people commit fraud. In a sales meeting 7 months ago, one of the group leaders brought up ChatGPT. She bragged she had just created an entire website blog by giving it an article title and nothing more.
She proudly put her name on an article entirely generated by a machine.
I asked my chat: Of these four points, which is the strongest reason the answer to "Is using ChatGPT Plagiarism?" is yes.
She replied: Among the four points listed in the article, the fourth point stands out as the strongest reason in addressing the question, "Is using ChatGPT Plagiarism?" This point, "Presenting an idea or product as new and original when it comes from an existing source," directly speaks to the essence of plagiarism in the context of ChatGPT usage.
Love it when my chat (ChatSK)* agrees with me.
Using any chatbot to create or modify articles, handbooks, emails makes you a Plagiarist in my mind unless you acknowledge it’s usage inside the work, or at the bottom as I do.
The footer of almost every article I write says this:
ps. ChatSK assisted me in writing this piece. All my articles are penned by my own hand. ChatSK checks them for spelling & grammar, offers a few suggestions, and gives its opinion on whether the article is ready for publication. Sk

ChatSK (my specialized chatbot) agrees with me again. When prompted: Based on your answers, it seems "ChatGPT" should be acknowledged at the bottom of any article that ChatGPT was used. Do you agree Kat?
Her reply: You're correct, Steve. While acknowledging the use of AI technology like ChatGPT in articles is an ethical practice, it's not yet a widespread standard in the industry. However, as the use of AI continues to grow in content creation, there may be increasing calls for transparency and acknowledgment of AI's role in generating content.
Bottom line: There is a right way and wrong way to use chatbots like ChatGPT.
You have to decide for yourself how much effort you want to put into your articles or any other work.
Don’t let Chatbots write Everything!
