Using ChatGPT as a coding assistant

Well, one can quote numerous examples of how the AI tool has helped quite a few of us, when in need, in a vast range of scenarios that have ranged from very personal to those that have a direct bearing on our work.

One simply continues to be amazed by the 'real' influence that 'artificial' intelligence is having in our lives.

It was on one of those days, when out of frustration of having to write somewhat similar code every time, for various react data elements, I turned to ChatGPT for help. The result was delightful.

Below are the snapshots of the conversation that place.

It took the online friend a mere second or two to come up with a similar react element that was needed for a data property 'currency'.

The result was not only accurate but the way it explained its own answer only served for me to be put in further awe, making me somewhat envious, of the friend, which took a jiffy to grasp not only the requirement, but the context, as well.

The description, that followed, of contextual meaning of the data elements or properties that I had not even mentioned, were quite accurately interpreted by ChatGPT.

Though, I did not exactly need, but the above description clearly indicates, how correctly it had grasped the context and explained what properties such as 'currencyErrMsg' or 'readOnly' could mean in this snippet.

And when I thought to give a thumbs up, somewhat irresistibly, on the flawless output and help, I couldn't find a thumbs-up symbol, that indicated my faithful was not looking for appreciation.

In the end, I thought I found a friend who met the classical definition 'a friend in need is a friend indeed', a thought that could well resonate with many of us.
