Using AI at Work—The Fun Side

You've probably seen countless posts about how AI automation is the future of work, or how if you're not using AI, someone who is will take your job. Maybe you've read about how using tool X or these 50 prompts can 10X your productivity. While I agree that integrating AI into your workflow is essential, focusing solely on productivity gains is just one side of the coin.

Today, let's focus on how AI can make your job more fun. Many people highlight that AI can handle mundane tasks, freeing them up to do more of what they love—which is great. But why not take it a step further and make your everyday tasks enjoyable? With new AI tools popping up everywhere, the only limit to adding some fun into your workday is your creativity.

Here's an example from my day:

I was editing a series of social media posts and using ChatGPT to help refine the messaging. To keep myself engaged and awake, I added a twist to my initial prompt:

"To make this more enjoyable today, start each of your responses with a fact that has been proven beyond a doubt that most people don't believe."

Here are some of the fascinating facts I received:

1. Contrary to popular belief, Antarctica is the world's largest desert, not the Sahara.
2. Bananas are classified as berries, while strawberries are not.
3. Despite popular belief, the Great Wall of China is not visible from space to the naked eye.
4. Goldfish have a memory span that lasts months, not just three seconds.
5. Vikings did not wear horned helmets, contrary to popular belief.
6. The Eiffel Tower can grow more than six inches during hot days due to thermal expansion.
7. Chameleons change color primarily for communication and temperature regulation, not for camouflage.
8. The tongue map showing different taste zones is a myth; all taste sensations come from all regions of the tongue.

While not groundbreaking, adding this small twist took about five seconds and made the task much more enjoyable. I probably got through it even faster because I was eager to see what the next fact would be.
