Using AI & Space Data to tackle the big problems - here on earth.
It was such an awesome experience to be invited last week to The White House and support Vice President Harris' Space & STEM education efforts.
Technovation has been working over the past few years to inspire students around the world to use space data to tackle real-world problems in their communities.
10 years ago the resolution in satellite images was about 30 m. Today it is 3 m.
This quality and scale of information can help solve some of the hardest problems we face - starting with SDG 1 - eradicating poverty - and going all the way to climate mitigation. Check out this groundbreaking work being done by Chenlin Meng and Stefano Ermon on how to get real-time data on poverty levels from satellite images (instead of relying on decade-old census data).
(It was also fun to get to see where Vice President Harris sits :)!
